Used Rickenbacker 4003S Bass Fireglo 1981 w/ OHSC

A sleek 1981 4003S Rickenbacker bass, the S style 4003s were pretty much introduced around this year and offered the same shape without binding allowing for a more comfortable feel when playing. These 4003S versions are very rare from this era The other noticeable difference is the dot inlays along the neck as opposed to the sharkfins.  Tonally it has that punchy throat bass tone that only a Ric can offer and the magic is in that middle pickup position where you get both together.

Condition Wise: The bass has finish checking all over. There is wear on the back of the bass by where you'd typically have buckle rash. The pickguard as a crack along the neck pickup mounting screw which is very common with this era of Ric basses. The bridge is a replacement with the original included. One of the gear screws on the tuners is a replacement. Our technician looked at the functionality of the truss rods, they're a tad difficult to adjust due to the typical Ric difficulties. They could use some tightening and we don't have a tool to make it happen but the rods don't appear broken whatsoever. 

The bass has been tested and functions like it should. It is a consignment piece here meaning all sales are final.
