The Sonex is one of the most affordable vintage Gibson guitar models. They were an attempt to break into the entry - mid tier instrument market by offering a Gibson branded guitar with some more affordable features. These include things like the composite body, bolt on neck construction, large pickup route, and Japan made hardware. This one has been played for sure and shows its age.
Condition: "Fair" - "Good". This guitar certainly shows its age. There is plenty of finish checking, most notably on the neck. There are dings, scratches, etc.. some of the finish has begun to chip around the tuner washers. The truss rod functions as expected and has room for adjustment. The hardware is slightly pitted. The nut has been shimmed and filled for better action in the lower register.
