Chase Bliss Blooper The Bottomless Looper

Within this little blue rectangle is an intricate machine to explore, unravel, and make your own, with infinite opportunities and outcomes. The dream of blooper was to merge high-quality looping with creative manipulation, allowing you to steer your loops to new and extraordinary places. Record a loop one day, save, then come back and transform it on another.

On the practical end, there is loop saving, eight layers of undo and redo, and external syncing. On the creative end, there are two channels of modifiers, a lo-fi Stability control, and three looping modes. blooper’s heart is Additive mode, which allows you to record sound modifiers directly into the loop like any other overdub.

The dream of blooper was to merge high-fidelity looping with creative manipulation, allowing you to steer recordings to new and extraordinary places. Sync, loop and layer, then edit your creation with two channels of immediate, hands-on modifiers. Save, come back later, and keep going.

Use Additive mode to record modifiers directly into your loop.
8 layers of undo / redo for time jumps and carefree overdubbing.
Save and transfer up to 16 loops with layers stored and separated.
Age and analog-ize your loops with the help of Stability.

Additive Recording.
blooper’s sooper power.
In Additive mode, any modifications you make to a loop are recorded into your overdubs, like live editing. This includes knob movements – if you hear it, so does blooper. Cook up radical breaks and transitions in real-time, or loops that continuously evolve. Use the Layers control at any time to jump back to where you began.

Layers

The Layers control can be used to navigate your loop history, like jumping through time. 8 levels of undo / redo, mapped to a knob.

Sampling

Play your recordings one-shot like a sample, or explore a fast, interactive alternate to standard looping.

Stability

Move your loops into the physical world with Stability, gradually introducing a number of artifacts reminiscent of an old tape reel.

Modifiers. With the bloop troop.
Blooper has two channels or modifiers that can be used simultaneously to contort and reimagine your loops.
*Smooth Speed enjoys bending time in a fluid, organic way reminiscent of a tape machine. It excels at slowing things to a crawl.
*Oop! Dropper is your clumsy saboteur, injecting moments of silence into your loop. Each drop varies in smoothness and duration.
*Trimmer makes that big old loop of yours littler. Handy for tweaking timing, creating interruptions, or discovering loops within loops.
*Stepped Speed is all about efficiency and precision. Speed up or slow your loops in musical steps of fifths and octaves.
*Scrambler just can’t keep it together, breaking up the timeline of your loop, jumping here and there to create patterns or random departures.
*Loop feeling busy? Shrill? Big whoop. Pop on the dual-mode Filter and tidy things up to mellow those pesky highs or create space in the lows.
*Once you swap, the fun don’t stop. Swapper allows you to replace parts of your loop, either manually, or with your playing dynamics.
*DJ time. Stutter—sometimes known as beat repeat—latches onto the current moment and repeats it, like scratching a record.
*Speed Trimmer allows you to shrink your loop by precise subdivisions, so your adjustments fit nicely into rhythm.
*Stretcher allows you to explore the microscopic world hiding within each loop or condense it into a blur. All without affecting pitch!
*All good things come to an end. Stopper eases that transition, introducing either a volume fade or a tape stop.
*Pitcher allows you to transpose your loop without changing the speed, with an outrageous three octave range up or down.
