The Threshold Maximizer is BAE’s take on the 1986 “Version 3-B” ProCo Rat. Numerous versions of this circuit were examined, as well as vintage and newer variations. The Threshold Maximizer uses the LM308 op amp chip. And offers more head room, smoother EQ sweep, and a cleaner noise floor than the original.
