Used Spalt JD Custom 1-Off Electric Guitar 2005 w/OHSC
This Spalt custom piece is truly unlike anything else we've come across. Acoustically this guitar rings out with a tonal characteristic like a banjo mixed with a resonator. Plugged in the John Birch pickups truly shine. For those unaware, Birch made pickups and guitars which were utilized by Tony Iommi. They have a very full tone that is really lively and diverse. The construction of this guitar from Spalt is absolutely mind blowing. The customer encouraged Splat to really experiment and push the limits and the results are magical. The play-ability is off the charts with insanely low clean action and a unique feel from the fanned fret layout. Based on discussion with Spalt, it seems the instrument was made around 2005.
Condition: “Very Good”. The guitar has cosmetic wear and tear. There is finish checking all over the instrument and a handful of light dings / scratches. The celluloid control plate does have one split in it running off from the 3-way toggle hole. It seems entirely stable. Outside of that, there are some scratches / marks on some of the metal portions of the instrument. This is most notable underneath the saddles where it is entirely unable to be avoided. At the end of the neck by the truss rod location some of the finish has been worn.
